Researcher, Educator, and Dramaturg exploring how ancient stories live on, evolve, and shape cultures and identities.
I’m a researcher, educator, and dramaturg working at the intersection of classics, translation, theatre and performance studies. I’m currently Honorary Leventis Research Fellow in Ancient Greek Literature at UCL and a collaborator on two international projects —Translating Ancient Drama and Performing the Classics under Fascism — at Oxford’s Archive of Performances of Greek and Roman Drama, where I’ve worked on theatre archives and practice-based research since 2017. With a D.Phil from the University of Oxford and teaching experience across the UK (UCL & Oxford), Italy (Milan, Parma, Trento), and the US (Notre Dame, Indiana), my academic work focuses on translation, reception, and the politics of performance—especially in early modern and fascist contexts.
My creative practice bridges scholarship and performance: as a dramaturg and translator, I collaborate with directors and performers across Europe to reimagine ancient drama for contemporary audiences. From leading international workshops and inclusive theatre projects to designing education programmes and podcasting on storytelling, theatre, and classical reception, I use performance as both a critical lens and creative tool. I believe that storytelling—whether through ancient tragedy, political comedy, or new adaptations—is a powerful way to foster connection, dialogue, and cultural understanding. Whether you're here for research, collaboration, or creative ideas—welcome!
I combine scholarly expertise with creative practice to support projects across theatre, education, and public engagement. From translating scripts and advising on dramaturgy to leading collaborative workshops and evaluating research outputs, I bring critical insight and imaginative thinking to every stage of a project.
