Aristophanes at Chickenshed

A five-day workshop and performance of Aristophanes' Peace, directed by Marco Martinelli & Ermanna Montanari (Teatro delle Albe), and exploring a timely ancient comedy about a wine-maker, who, tired of the war, decides to take things in his own hands and flies up to Olympus to make a pact with the gods. 

The project brought together students from Parma, London, Bristol, and participants from Chickenshed’s education programmes, and culminated in two performances of a new version of Peace based on Giovanna Di Martino’s translation of the play.
