A five-day practice-research workshop exploring Sophocles’ Antigone through translation, performance, and adaptation.

Working across ancient sources, fragmentary texts, and modern adaptations, participants investigated how Antigone’s story changes as it moves between languages, bodies, and performance contexts. Students created new multilingual translations of passages from the Ode to Humankind and developed these through collaborative performance and choreography, with selected moments of the creative process captured on film.

The workshop formed part of an international ERASMUS+ Blended Intensive Programme, bringing together students from eight European universities and combining in-person work in Groningen with online sessions.
