Inclusive, experience-led learning where ancient texts meet contemporary questions.

I create spaces where students engage critically and creatively with classical texts — through translation, performance, and collaboration. My work spans universities, schools, and intensive programmes for actors, with a focus on making ancient drama relevant today.

Teaching Philosophy

My pedagogy is guided by three principles:

Modules & Courses

  • Dramaturgy, Ancient and Modern – Examines Greek and Roman plays in and through performance, past and present.
Student feedback: “Thought-provoking, inspiring, and practical.”
  • Greek Comedy – From ritual origins to obscenity, parody, and performance practice.
Student feedback: “Changed how I see comedy — relevant and engaging.”
  • Greek Tragedy – Close reading of Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides, alongside Aristotle’s Poetics and Aristophanes’ Frogs.
Student feedback: “Challenging but rewarding, especially linking theory to performance.”

Tutorials & Language Teaching

I teach Ancient Greek, Latin, English, Italian, and Drama at all levels, with over a decade’s experience at Oxford, UCL, and beyond.

  • Universities – Greek & Latin language, translation, and classical literature tutorials.
  • Schools – targeted support for exams and university applications.
  • General enrichment – bespoke tutorials combining grammar, reading, and performance insight.
